Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor and producer Olaide Olabanji, popularly known as Laiban, has accused star actress Mercy Aigbe of paying him back with evil after he helped her enter the movie industry.

Speaking in an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Laiban made it clear that he was the one who brought Mercy Aigbe into Nollywood.

He explained that before him, Mercy had never acted in any movie. He gave her the very first role that started her career.

Laiban compared Mercy’s behavior to that of another actress, Lola Alao. He said Lola still treats him very well up till today.

According to him, Lola bought him his wedding suit and regularly sends him money. He noted that Aunty Ayo Mogaji introduced Lola to him, but Mercy was his own direct discovery.

However, Laiban stated that Mercy Aigbe paid him with evil instead of gratitude. He also claimed that she blocks some of his ways of making a living.

He said this kind of thing happens often with ladies who quickly forget the past. He added that Mercy sometimes behaves as if he should no longer exist.

His words: “Mercy Aigbe had never acted before. I was the one who introduced her to the Nollywood industry and gave her first role. Lola Alao is the only one I can say had featured in English Nollywood before coming to Yoruba Nollywood. Aunty Ayo Mogaji was the one who introduced Lola to me. But as for Mercy, I brought her into Nollywood. Till date, Lola still does well by me. She even bought me my wedding suit and sends me money on a regular basis. However, Mercy Aigbe, on the other hand, paid me with evil. She also usually blocks some of my means. This usually happens to ladies a lot; they usually forget yesterday. To her, she usually feels I should not exist anymore.”
