“I have six children, what can ₦70k do?” – Man cries out to President Tinubu over economic hardship

A Nigerian man sparked outrage online after making an emotional appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, lamenting his family’s difficult economic situation.

In a viral video published on X (previously Twitter), a man and his wife revealed their monthly wage of ₦70,000, despite having six children to support.

According to him, the situation has grown untenable, as his income is no longer sufficient to cover even the most basic necessities of his family.

Speaking tearfully, he revealed that he and his wife had to drink garri just to get by, and that they are unsure what his children will eat next.

“President Tinubu, this is me and my wife. My salary is ₦70,000 and she gave birth to six children. What can ₦70,000 do for someone that has six children? That is why I am pleading with you, please help us.

We both drank garri today, and we don’t know what our children will eat. Please, I beg you in the name of God, help us fix this country.”

The emotive request has garnered extensive online reactions, with many Nigerians expressing compassion for the family while also underlining the country’s rising cost of living.
