A professional photographer has described what he considers to be the most embarrassing incident of his career, an accident at a burial site that left him stunned and mortified.
According to the photographer, the incident happened in 2018 while covering a burial. The burial was located in a tight corner, making it difficult to capture the appropriate camera perspective.
“I was trying to get some good shots, focusing on my work, when suddenly I lost my footing and fell into the grave,” he said. “I couldn’t believe what just happened.”
The fall reportedly caused damage to the casket, adding to the embarrassment. “Some parts of the casket broke when I fell, and everyone around froze for a moment. I felt mortified,” he added.
Despite the awkwardness of the incident, the photographer said he has since looked back on it as a learning experience. “It was a terrible moment at the time, but I’ve learned to always be more aware of my surroundings and plan for tight spaces when shooting,” he explained.
The story has resonated with other photographers and event professionals who confront unforeseen obstacles on the job, emphasising the unpredictable nature of fieldwork and the significance of taking measures in unfamiliar settings.
