In a video shared on X, formerly Twitter, the distressed woman revealed that her sister had travelled to Bayelsa for the mandatory three-week NYSC orientation camp before being posted to Niger State for her Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).
According to her, the vehicle conveying her sister and other corps members was reportedly att@cked by suspected k!dnappers during the journey.
She alleged that the driver was k!lled, while her sister and the other corps members were taken into the bush.
The woman said the family had yet to receive any positive update from the police regarding the whereabouts or safety of the abducted corps members.
She appealed to the government, NYSC and Nigerians to intervene and intensify efforts to secure the victims’ safe release.
She also disclosed that the family recently lost their mother, making the situation even more difficult for them.
“I don’t want to lose my sister. She only went to serve her country. I have reached out to NYSC, they keep telling us that the Air Force are working. Please, Nigerians help us.”
She explained that her sister was returning to Abuja to spend the night before proceeding to Niger State the following day to resume at her PPA.
In her words, she said:
“My sister went to Bayelsa for her three weeks camp, after the camp she was posted to Niger state. On her way coming back from Bayelsa to Abuja, she was coming back to spend the day in Abuja, so the next day which is on Thursday she will go to Niger state to do her PPA.”
The emotional appeal has attracted concern online, with Nigerians calling on the relevant authorities to intensify efforts to locate and rescue the affected corps members.
