“I don nearly turn to side chick, they warned me, I no hear” — Woman Regrets Leaving Eight-Year Marriage

A Nigerian woman has appealed for help after expressing regret over ending her eight-year marriage, revealing that she has struggled to find a committed partner three years after leaving her matrimonial home.

The woman, who has three children with her estranged husband, said she walked away from the marriage because she suspected him of inf!delity, despite warnings from her parents against the decision.

In a viral video, she expressed regret over how her life had turned out and appealed to the public for assistance.

Recounting her experience, she said:

“I get three children with my husband. But because I feel say my husband dey cheat on me na him make me leave my husband. And they warned me, my parents warned me, I no hear.”

She later disclosed that she had been separated from her husband for three years and was struggling to find a serious relationship.

Expressing her frustration, she said: “I regret leaving my marriage of eight years. Now, I don nearly turn to side chick. I beg make una help me.”

Reacting to the video, another Nigerian woman questioned what kind of assistance the mother of three expected from the public.

“So, wetin you really won’t make we do for you now?” she asked.

She argued that some women leave their marriages believing they will easily find more suitable partners, only to discover that some men they meet are interested in casual relationships rather than commitment.

“Some women don’t understand that leaving your husband does not mean other men are waiting for you. Some of you think once you leave your marriage, you will find somebody better,” she said.

She further claimed that some men who approach women outside marriage may have no intention of settling down, while others may already be married.

“And then you discover that the men you are meeting just want to have a taste of you. And most times, these are married men that cannot even leave their wives for you,” she added.

However, she clarified that her comments were not intended to encourage women to remain in unfaithful marriages.

“Nobody is telling you to tolerate a cheating partner. It’s a different thing when you catch your partner red-handed than when you are just assuming,” she stated.

The woman’s account has sparked conversations about marital separation, trust, infidelity and the challenges of finding a committed partner after a breakup. The circumstances surrounding her marriage and her husband’s perspective were not provided in the account.
