A married man has talked about his emotional struggles after his mother allegedly moved in with him after a cheating episode that caused his marriage to fall apart.

The man, whose name is being withheld, acknowledged cheating on his wife and deeply regretted his behaviour.

But since his wife told his mother about the incident, he added, things have evolved in an unanticipated way.

His mother has been living at their house for more than a month, he claims, having arrived on the day the problem was discovered.

She reportedly told her daughter-in-law to focus only on herself so her son would “learn the importance of what is called a woman.”

He clarified that even though his mother gives him money for food, she forbids him from eating meals that are made at home.

He has been asked to fend for himself instead. Additionally, he asserted that his mother forbids his wife from helping him in any way, even cleaning his room.

She apparently repeatedly demanded that he do his own laundry and take care of his household duties by himself.

The man further disclosed that his mother forbade him from being in the same room as his wife, stating that he had to first comprehend the consequences of his behaviour.

The man acknowledged his error and stated he had apologised to his wife, vowing never to make the same mistake again. He insisted that he truly wants to mend his marriage and regrets cheating.

He asserted, however, that his mother feels he should only ask for forgiveness when he has completely “felt the pain” of his wrongdoing. Reconciliation has been more challenging, he claimed, because of her ongoing presence in the home.

“I need my wife,” he reportedly said, adding that he feels emotionally drained and isolated in his own home.

According to the man, he called his father and asked him to convince his mother to come home. His father, he said, suggested that she stay a little while longer.

He said he was perplexed by his mother’s behaviour and that, while he could appreciate her disappointment, he thought the penalty was excessive.

Since then, the incident has spurred internet discussions on parental meddling, marital limits, and how to settle family conflicts amicably.
