
Katherine Short, a Los Angeles social worker and the daughter of actor and comedian Martin Short, d!ed at the age of 42.
Her d£•th was confirmed by her family.
“It is with profound grief that we confirm Katherine Hartley Short’s passing,” the family said in a statement.
“The Short family is devastated by their loss and requests privacy at this time. Katherine was loved by everyone and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world.”
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to her Hollywood Hills home around 6 p.m. on Monday, February 23.
Shortly afterwards, paramedics pronounced her d£•d.
A law enforcement source told The Times that Katherine Short di£d by apparent su!cide.
Katherine Short holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and gender studies from NYU (2006) and a master’s degree in social work from USC (2010). She works part-time at Amae Health, a psychiatric outpatient clinic, according to People. She was also involved with the charity Bring Change 2 Mind, whose mission is to eliminate stigma and discrimination against mental illness.
She was the eldest of three children adopted by Martin Short and his wife, actor Nancy Dolman, who died of ovarian cancer in 2010.
