“He built that house but didn’t even enjoy it” – Woman begs Toluwanisings’ widow to bury him in his own house

A Nigerian woman has appealed to the widow of late gospel singer Toluwanisings, urging her not to oppose his father’s wish to have his son buried in the house he reportedly built before his death.

The woman made the appeal in a Facebook post following reports of a disagreement between the singer’s father and his wife over where his remains should be laid to rest.

She argued that the late singer had invested his time, energy and savings in building the house to provide comfort for his wife and children, but died before he could fully enjoy it.

Addressing the widow, whom she identified as Itoha, the woman urged her to consider her late husband’s efforts and allow his father’s decision to be respected.

“Olayemi Bayonile (Toluwanising) build that house with his energy and savings to give you and the children comfort. He didn’t even enjoy the building before he died,” she wrote.

She also pleaded with the widow not to fight her father-in-law’s decision to bury his son in the house.

“Itoha, don’t resist your husband’s father’s decision to bury His son in the House he built himself before he slumped and died,” the woman added.

The woman also cited Yoruba cultural practices in her appeal, urging the family to honour the father’s wishes and resolve the matter peacefully.

“YORUBA HAS CULTURE…. LISTEN AND LET’S REASON TOGETHER,” she wrote.

Her remarks follow reports of a dispute between Toluwanisings’ father and his wife over where the singer should be buried.

The father was said to favour burying his son in the house he built, while the widow reportedly opposed the idea, saying she could not live in a home where her husband was laid to rest.

The father was also said to have offered an alternative — taking his son to their village to be buried beside his late mother — if burial in the house was rejected.

Toluwanisings, born Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, died on October 14, 2026, and the reported disagreement over his burial has since sparked reactions on social media.
