Suspected bandits have abd¥cted the Chairman of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Hon. Nura Umar Bungudu, following a d£adly att@ck on his residence.

According to Daily Trust, the gunmen stormed the community, located less than 20 kilometres from the Zamfara State capital, Gusau, before heading directly to the chairman’s home.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers overpowered security personnel guarding the residence, k!lling two police officers and two vigilantes before abd¥cting the chairman, his wife and children.

However, security operatives who launched a pursuit reportedly succeeded in rescuing four or five of the children from the k!dnappers.

As of the time of filing this report, the Zamfara State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
