A vehicle was completely submerged after severe flash flooding hit the Agungi and Ajiran areas of Lekki following heavy rainfall.

Eyewitness accounts and social media videos showed the car trapped in deep floodwaters. In one clip, the distressed car owner is heard lamenting the loss of the vehicle, saying he had warned his driver to avoid the flooded road but the driver ignored the instruction and drove through the water at high speed.

The incident has drawn attention to the ongoing drainage problems in the area, as well as the risks associated with driving through flash flood conditions.
