The plan is aimed at MSc and PhD candidates in oil and gas-related subjects. Tuition coverage, return flights, accommodation, living allowances, health insurance, and bench fees, where applicable, will be provided to recipients.
The program’s goal is to give world-class training, access to research facilities, and opportunity to develop expertise while increasing local capacity in Nigeria’s energy sector.
PhD applicants to UK colleges will do research at the College of Petroleum and Energy Studies in Kaduna and partner universities include Robert Gordon University, the University of Strathclyde, and the University of Portsmouth.
The PTDF stressed that the scholarships are extremely difficult, with applications evaluated based on academic performance, research projects, professional memberships, and relevance to the oil and gas business.
MSc candidates must have at least a Second Class Lower (2.2) degree and have undergone NYSC, whilst PhD aspirants must present a full research proposal.
Interested candidates should apply online at scholarship.ptdf.gov.ng. The deadline for applications is February 27th, 2026.
