Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has received mixed reactions online after a video of him mourning the death of veteran actor Olu Jacobs surfaced on social media.

Olu Jacobs’ death was announced by his family on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. His son, Olusoji Jacobs, shared the announcement, describing the late actor as a beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle.

The family also appealed to bloggers and social media influencers to respect their privacy as they mourned.

Following the announcement, Emeka Ike was seen in a video visibly emotional as he reacted to the loss of his senior colleague.

In the video, the actor broke down in tears while expressing regret that he did not get the opportunity to see Olu Jacobs before his death.

Emeka Ike was heard saying that he had not seen the veteran actor until his passing.

The video has since generated different reactions from social media users. While some sympathised with the actor and understood his emotional response, others questioned why the moment was recorded and shared online.
