Dolly Parton’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been fully restored after it was vandalised shortly after the legendary singer’s d3ath.

Photos obtained by TMZ showed the star completely repaired on Friday, September 4, with Parton’s name restored to its original condition.

A turquoise butterfly was placed over the centre medallion of the star, while flowers and other tributes surrounded the site as fans continued to honour the late music icon.

Butterfly tribute honours Parton

The butterfly has long been associated with Parton and became one of her personal and career symbols, partly because of her connection to nature.

Parton previously spoke about developing an affection for butterflies as a child while chasing them around Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains.

The butterfly placed on her restored star therefore served as a fitting tribute to the singer and her enduring legacy.

Star vandalised days after singer’s death

The restoration followed an incident on Monday, August 31, when someone reportedly scratched Parton’s name from her Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

Parton d!ed at the age of 80 following a brief battle with cancer, according to the report.

Ana Martinez, a spokesperson for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, previously said the repaired star needed about three days to cure before crews could return to polish it.

Crews reportedly completed the polishing work on Friday morning, restoring the landmark to honour Parton’s legacy in the entertainment industry.
