Country music star Billy Ray Cyrus has spoken about a serious health crisis that nearly cost him his life in 2024.

According to reports, the 64-year-old singer was hospitalised with sepsis and later developed vocal paralysis, a condition that affected his ability to sing.

Reflecting on the experience, Cyrus described it as his “worst nightmare,” saying he was unsure how the condition developed.

He revealed that his health deteriorated to the point where doctors advised him to put his affairs in order, as the situation had become extremely serious.

The singer also recalled that his body became severely swollen during the ordeal, leaving him fearful for his life.

Cyrus said he eventually recovered and described his survival as both a miracle and an answered prayer.

He further credited the support and encouragement of his family, including his children and grandson, for helping him through the challenging period.
