Court approves three Labs for DNA tests to determine paternity of Mohbad’s son

Three laboratories—two in the United Kingdom and one in the United States—have been authorised by the Ikorodu High Court in Lagos State to do DNA testing in order to establish the paternity of Liam, the kid left behind by late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

Joseph Aloba, the deceased singer’s father, has often denied Liam’s paternity. According to Mr. Aloba, the body of Mohbad, who died on September 27, 2023, will not be buried until Liam’s paternity has been established by a DNA test.

At the resumed hearing of the paternity case between Mr Aloba and Wunmi, the singer’s widow, counsel to Mohbad’s father while speaking to newsmen, said

‘’The court has eventually picked three DNA Laboratory centers, two in the UK and one in the US. One from us, one from them and the court picked an independent one. The matter has been adjourned to the 7th of April for us to report on the picking of samples. Prior before then, we would have made arrangement with the welfare officers to ensure that samples are taken which will be supervised by the welfare officers and it will be monitored. All the parties will be there when they are taking the samples.’’

” He stated that his legal team and the Aloba family would ensure that there is a representative at each of the locations where samples will be transported and tested.
