A Nigerian woman identified as @Pats_Aura on X has sparked debate online after revealing how her friend’s six-year relationship reportedly ended following an alleged act of infidelity.
In a widely circulated post, the woman recounted how her friend allegedly had an int!mate encounter with another person at a party before heading to her boyfriend’s apartment.
According to her account, the boyfriend became suspicious that his partner had been int!mate with someone else after she arrived at his apartment. The suspicion reportedly triggered an argument that ultimately led to the end of their six-year relationship.
Reacting to the incident, @Pats_Aura questioned whether the boyfriend had detected signs of the alleged encounter through smell or had simply become suspicious.
“Can men actually smell or was he just guessing?” she asked.
The post has attracted mixed reactions, with some users suggesting that the boyfriend might have noticed a physical sign of the alleged encounter, while others questioned whether the incident was the real reason behind the breakup.
Slim Peter commented: “You can smell it. You’ve been with someone for six years, so it’s easier to detect anything.”
Labista wrote: “Six years ended over one mistake, but the real question is how he knew. Men, can you actually smell it, or was he just suspicious?”
Demanon suggested: “If she went straight there without cleaning up, he almost certainly smelled residual semen.”
Jacob, however, offered a different perspective, writing: “My guess is he probably wanted out and that just gave him the opportunity.”
The discussion has since centred on trust, infidelity and whether a relationship lasting six years can recover after a breach of trust.
While some commenters focused on how the boyfriend might have discovered the alleged affair, others questioned whether the incident exposed deeper problems in the relationship.
