Rahman Jago, a socialite, has confirmed the conversion of Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy to Islam.

Burna Boy, who was raised as a Christian, sparked speculation about his religious affiliation after revealing during a podcast interview a few weeks ago that he embraced Islam “at some point” in his quest for truth. Since then, his faith has remained the subject of public speculation.

Rahman Jago recently posted a video on his X handle of Burna Boy praising Allah with him and a group of men in what appeared to be a bar setting. He captioned the video “Allahu Akbar.”

Bashir Ahmad, ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s former media aide, reposted the video. Ahmad remarked that the singer appeared happy and prayed that Allah would make his Islamic journey easier.

In the comments section, a fan asked Ahmad if Burna Boy had truly converted. Ahmad responded that some of the singer’s close associates had stated that he converted, but the artist himself had yet to publicly confirm it.

Rahman Jago confirmed Burna Boy’s conversion to Islam and status as a Muslim in response to a fan’s question.

“He converted. He is now a Muslim,” Jago wrote.
