Bride cries out after decorator allegedly collects N300,000, fails to show up for wedding

A Nigerian bride has cried out after an event decorator allegedly failed to show up at her wedding despite receiving N300,000 to decorate the venue.

The bride said she hired the decorator, identified as EventByMuse, after discovering the business on Instagram and agreeing on a total payment of N300,000 for the decoration of her wedding venue.

According to her, she initially paid N150,000 and later completed the payment with another N150,000.

Bride recounts wedding day ordeal

The bride said the decorator was expected to arrive at the venue in the morning but failed to show up.

She alleged that several calls and messages sent to the decorator went unanswered, leaving her distressed on what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of her life.

According to the bride, the decorator’s absence meant that the wedding venue was left without the decoration she had paid for.

She said some of her guests eventually had to step in and improvise to make the venue presentable.

The bride further alleged that the decorator collected an additional N5,000 from each person for their tables but still failed to appear at the event.

Expressing her frustration in a video shared on social media, she said:

“I didn’t get her call. I was typing her. I was calling her. She did not come. This made my day like very very bad. Like I feel so terrible right now.”

She added:

“Like no decoration, no decoration at all.”

The bride subsequently shared screenshots of her conversations with the decorator as well as payment details, asking social media users to assess the situation.

She also questioned whether it was acceptable for the decorator to receive the agreed payment, as well as additional charges for tables, without showing up to provide the contracted service.

The allegations have sparked reactions online, with several social media users expressing sympathy for the bride and calling on the decorator to explain what happened.

The claims made by the bride have not been independently verified, and it is unclear whether EventByMuse has responded publicly to the allegations.
