Former Big Brother Naija housemate Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has advised the organisers of the reality TV show to take a break and come up with fresh ideas to keep Nigerians interested.
Speaking during an interview on Arise 360 on Arise News, the former housemate, who took part in the 2019 Pepper Dem edition, said social media has changed the way Nigerians consume entertainment.
“I think they need to take a break, restrategise and just come up with something,” she said.
Tacha explained that Nigerians now have several sources of entertainment online, including trending celebrity controversies that sometimes attract more attention than reality TV.
“You don’t want us watching housemates on the show, meanwhile PSquare is giving us part seven of his family issues and stuff we want to hear,” she said.
She suggested that taking a break could give viewers a chance to miss the show and build anticipation for its return.
According to her, the organisers need to introduce something different and more exciting to capture Nigerians’ attention.
“They need to cook, like they need to try to do something different which will be much more mind-blowing and more interesting to Nigerians because Nigerians are hard to please,” she added.
