A 39-year-old man, Jafar Abdullahi Dabawu, has been killed by unknown assailants four months after his wedding in Niger State.

The victim, who resided opposite the Maitumbi Police Station in Minna, Niger State, was reportedly attacked and k!lled at his residence around 3am on Thursday, May 21, 2026 after participating in the House of Assembly primaries.

A resident of the area, Muhammad Adamu, told Daily Trust that the deceased got married barely four months ago.

“It’s just about four months since he got married. His k!llers went to his residence and macheted him to d3ath,” he said.

The spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the incident said the matter was under investigation, while efforts were ongoing to trace and apprehend the killers
