‘Anyone Who Tests Our Determination Will Encounter Power That Will Exact a Heavy Price’ — Eyal Zamir

According to a report by The Times of Israel, Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, issued a strong warning to Israel’s adversaries amid rising tensions in the Middle East and growing preparations involving Israel and the United States.

Speaking during the same period that U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the inaugural Board of Peace meeting in Washington, Zamir emphasized that Israel’s military remains on high alert and ready to respond swiftly to any threat. He said the armed forces are closely monitoring developments and are prepared to act depending on changes in operational conditions.

According to him, “Anyone who seeks to test our determination will encounter power that will exact an immediate and heavy price.” He also stated that the military’s “eyes are open in every direction, and our finger is more poised on the trigger than ever in the face of any change in the operational reality.”

At the same time, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s position on the war in Gaza, saying there would be no reconstruction without complete demilitarization of the territory. He warned that Hamas would soon face a choice between voluntarily surrendering its weapons or being forced to do so. Netanyahu also stressed the importance of maintaining security and demilitarized zones in hostile areas, noting that Israeli forces remain stationed in strategic locations in Syria and Lebanon to prevent future threats.

The developments come amid heightened regional tensions, with the United States increasing its military presence in the region, reportedly its largest deployment in years. Although Washington and Iran have recently held nuclear talks, significant disagreements remain, and Trump has indicated that a decision regarding Iran could be made soon.
