Actress Annie Macaulay has responded to criticism she received after congratulating fashion designer Abiodun Folashade Tokunbo, popularly known as CEO Luminee.

The designer recently announced the birth of her child with actor Olanrewaju James Omiyinka, better known as Baba Ijesha, a convicted sex offender.

Baba Ijesha was recently released from prison after serving a sentence for a sexual offence involving a minor.

The revelation that he had married CEO Luminee and welcomed a child with her after his release sparked widespread backlash. Many critics also questioned Luminee’s decision to be involved with him, noting that she already has a young daughter from a previous relationship.

Amid the controversy, Annie Macaulay, the former wife of singer Innocent Idibia, publicly congratulated the fashion designer.

Her message drew criticism from social media users, with some pointing out that Annie is also a mother of two daughters.

Reacting to the backlash, Annie explained that she was unaware of the situation surrounding Baba Ijesha. According to her, the only connection she had with Luminee was that the designer had made an outfit for her a few months earlier, which was why she sent the congratulatory message.
