Angry mob k!lls suspect who st@bbed forest guard to d3ath in Taraba

A thorough investigation into a vi0lent incident that resulted in the d3aths of two men, including a forest guard, in the state’s Lau local government area has been initiated by the Taraba State Police Command.

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, ASP Victor Mshelizah, the command’s acting public relations officer, confirmed the incident in a statement.

The incident started when a forest guard named Jerry Jimmy detained a male suspect while on duty, according to preliminary findings.

A confrontation allegedly occurred during the arrest, and the suspect fatally injured the guard by st@bbing him in the chest with a concealed knife.

The suspect, later identified as Ya’u Jaro Saidu of Jegem Village in Lau local government, was subsequently att@cked and k!lled by a mob in retaliation.
