Stray bullet fired by suspected cultists k!lled a 20-year-old woman in the Amassoma region of Bayelsa state who went by the name Blessing.
The suspected cultists allegedly broke into a nearby laundromat to a$$ault a man. The gunmen reportedly opened fire when the intended target saw them and attempted to escape. It was reported that Blessing, who had just returned from church, was hit by a stray bullet that had missed the escaping victim.
Musa Muhammed, a command spokesperson, confirmed the incident to reporters and stated that the victim was taken to the hospital, where she subsequently d!ed.
He stated that an investigation into the incident has been started by the police.
