Residents of Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State have been thrown into panic after gunmen reportedly k!lled four people, including the Commander of the Organised Security Peace and Advisory Committee (OSPAC).

The attack occurred on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

The slain OSPAC operative was identified as Ozoemela Stephen Wokocha, popularly known as Boski, who served as the Commander of the OSPAC Omoku Unit.

Three women were also reportedly k!lled during the attack, while two other victims sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

As of the time of filing this report, the circumstances surrounding the att@ck remained unclear, with security agencies yet to issue an official statement.

A resident, who spoke with the Nigerian Tribune on condition of anonymity, said the incident had left the community gripped by fear, forcing many residents to remain indoors over concerns of possible further violence.

According to the source, the usually busy streets of Omoku became largely deserted shortly after the attack, while many businesses shut down earlier than usual as commercial activities and movement across the town declined significantly.
