A young lady has shared a disturbing experience, alleging that a man she was in the talking stage with secretly used her ATM card details to make unauthorized transactions, leaving both her and her sister at a financial loss.

According to her, the incident occurred in 2023 after the man repeatedly asked to use her ATM card to pay for meals, assuring her that he would refund the money once his manager paid him. She claimed he never refunded the money and later allegedly took her ATM card from her bag without her knowledge.

She said she became suspicious after receiving debit alerts for transactions made at locations she had never visited. Although the man reportedly admitted to using the card on one occasion and promised to repay her, she alleged that the unauthorized withdrawals continued.

The lady further revealed that the situation worsened after her sister’s allowance was paid into the same bank account while her sister’s ATM card had been retained by an ATM machine. According to her, multiple unauthorized transactions continued until only a small balance was left in the account.

She later discovered that the man had allegedly memorized the details on the ATM card and used them to carry out online purchases without her permission.

She concluded by advising people to be extra careful with their bank cards, urging them to conceal or scratch off the CVV number on the back of their cards to help prevent unauthorized online transactions.
