The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old woman, Maimunatu Idris, for allegedly st@bbing her boyfriend and severing his m@nhood after reportedly discovering that he intended to marry another woman.

The incident reportedly occurred at Durbar Hotel in the Badawa area of Kano State.

Confirming the arrest in a statement issued on Monday, July 27, 2026, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the suspect allegedly attacked the victim with a sharp kn!fe during a confrontation.

According to the statement:

“On 27th July, 2026, at about 12:50 p.m., a report was received from the Management of Durbar Hotel, Badawa, that one Maimunatu Idris, ‘f’, 25 years, of Maigatari LGA, Jigawa State, allegedly att@cked her boyfriend with a sharp kn!fe after discovering his intention to marry another woman.

“During the attack, the suspect severed the victim’s manhood.”

Police said officers from the Badawa Division immediately responded to the scene, arrested the suspect, and recovered the sharp knife allegedly used in the attack.

The victim was rushed to Abubakar Imam Urology Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

The police added that investigations are ongoing.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, condemned the incident and urged members of the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands under any circumstances.
