A Nigerian woman has provoked conflicting emotions online after saying one thing she will never tolerate in her marriage: she will not cook for her husband after he has spent the entire day at home.

In a video circulating on X (previously Twitter), she stated that she has witnessed situations in other people’s marriages that she would never tolerate in her own, particularly when it comes to dividing household tasks.

“The things that happen in other people’s marriage that I hear and see, I will never allow such to happen in my marriage,”

The lady stated that if her husband stays at home all day, whether working remotely or simply being indoors, he has no reason to wait for her to return before eating.

She went on to say that after a long day at work or in traffic, she would not come home and apologise before heading to the kitchen to make supper.

“You either eat snacks or go to bed hungry. It can never happen here. It’s not normal,” she added.

Her comments have elicited a mixed response on social media, with some agreeing that home tasks should be divided equally and others arguing that caring for one another is a crucial aspect of marriage.
