A Nigerian man accused his friend, a solar installer, of betrayal after discovering that he quoted another friend ₦5 million for a solar installation he had charged him ₦7 million for.

He first spent ₦7 million on installation and later bought an additional battery from a friend for ₦3 million. He was impressed with his services and stated that he would continue to suggest him to others.

In his words shared on X (formerly Twitter), read what he said below:

“I used ₦7 million to install my solar and later got a battery of an extra ₦3 million from my guy. Then when one of my friends said he needed solar, I referred him to this guy, and he gave that guy a quotation of ₦5 million for something he charged me ₦7 million for.”

The man expressed disappointment with the price disparity, particularly given the close relationship he believed they shared.

He added that when he confronted his pal, the installer explained the lower quotation to confusion over his child’s birth.

“I liked you so much, I patronised you, and I felt we were so close that I was even still telling people about you. But what you charged me ₦7 million for, you charged another person ₦5 million for.

And when I confronted him, he was like he was so confused during his child’s birth, when his wife gave birth, too much was on his mind,” he added.

He questioned how the conditions could result in a ₦2 million discrepancy, and stated that the incident affected his perspective of his friend.

His claim has sparked internet debate, with some rejecting the explanation and others noting that solar installation costs might vary depending on specs and other variables.
