Wizkid’s son Boluwatife Balogun announces his Arabic name, declares, he is a muslim

Boluwatife Balogun, the teenage son of Nigerian music singer Wizkid, has sparked outrage online after discussing the current fasting period.

The 14-year-old, who has recently entered the music industry, revealed his thoughts on the holy month in a post that rapidly gained traction among admirers on social media.

Boluwatife, who released his debut EP in November 2025, stated that this year’s Ramadan experience is different for him.

In his message, the young musician stated that the spiritual season has been meaningful, and that he has seen things come into place in his life.

This holy month really hitting different. Just watching things fall into place and all I can say is Alhamdulillah 🤲🏾.”

His post sparked interest among social media users, particularly those who were astonished to see him publicly discuss the Islamic fasting time.

During the online debate, a user on X requested Boluwatife for his Arabic or Muslim name.

What is your Arabic name?” the user asked.

Responding to the question, the teenager simply replied, “Abdul Rahman.”

Some people were astonished by the revelation, including one who said they had no idea Boluwatife practised Islam.

He responded to the criticism by explaining that his paternal grandfather gave him the name.

My paternal grandpa (Wizkid dad) is Muslim and gave me the name,” he said.

Wizkid, whose full name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, has an Arabic name, Ibrahim, which reflects his family’s Muslim origin.

His father, Muniru Olatunji Balogun, or Alhaji Balogun, is a well-known community figure.

He allegedly served as chairman of the in the Alaba area for many years.

According to sources, he was also involved in community development projects, including as bringing power to the Alaba-Oro hamlet in Ajegunle in the early 1970s.

Wizkid has previously stated that he grew up in an interfaith environment, with his father practicing Islam and his mother a Pentecostal Christian.

The musician previously revealed that his father had three wives, echoing the polygamous home arrangement in which he was nurtured.
