Why you shouldn’t marry a girl who cannot cook – Pastor Adeboye

Cleric Enoch Adeboye has sparked debate after sharing his thoughts on the attributes he believes are necessary in a potential bride.

During a sermon, he recommended men to consider practical characteristics such as culinary abilities and hospitality when selecting a wife, implying that these qualities play an important role in creating a stable home.

He also emphasised the significance of intelligence and character, drawing on biblical teachings in his speech.

According to him, if a lady lacks these characteristics, the guy should not marry her, otherwise he will be in trouble.

Read his words below;

“Don’t marry a girl who cannot cook. We’re talking of excellent counsel. Only me can tell you these things. If she can’t cook, even if a prophet says this is your wife. Say thank you, keep her. Because if she can’t cook, if she can’t be hospitable, you’re heading for trouble. The Bible made it clear that your wife must be someone who is intelligent and hospitable…”

His speech has elicited conflicting reactions online, with some agreeing with his perspective on conventional marriage responsibilities and others advocating for a more modern and flexible approach to relationships.
