Why I won’t remove my breast implants despite suffering from mould poisoning — Jenny McCarthy

American actress Jenny McCarthy has disclosed that she is not ready to remove her breast implants, despite concerns about their possible link to her ongoing health issues.

The 53-year-old television personality made this known during the November 3 episode of The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show, where she addressed suggestions from people who believe taking out the implants could be worth considering amid her battle with mould and mycotoxin poisoning.

McCarthy admitted that her stance might appear inconsistent with her concerns about toxic substances. However, she explained that undergoing another procedure was not something she wanted at the moment.

She also noted that she had previously undergone breast reduction procedures, which left her with a significantly smaller appearance than before.

“Maybe someday, when I’m an old lady, I will want to be a free bird,” she said.

“But in this time of having to be in these dresses and stuff like that, I went down dramatically, much smaller than I used to be. But I am not ready.”

During the podcast, McCarthy asked celebrity plastic surgeon Dr Terry Dubrow whether mould-related illness could affect breast implants.

Dubrow, who has performed cosmetic procedures on the actress since the early 2000s, said he had never encountered such a case in his professional career.

His response appeared to reassure McCarthy, who maintained that she had no immediate plans to remove her implants.

However, Dubrow’s personal experience does not prove that breast implants are completely free from medical risks.

McCarthy’s decision comes amid her account of a difficult medical journey that she says began with a persistent toothache in October 2024.

Speaking on her podcast on October 28, the actress recalled how the pain persisted despite medication, eventually leading to multiple dental procedures and tooth extractions.

She said her condition grew more complicated as she developed unexplained growths, infections and other symptoms that prompted consultations with various medical specialists.

According to McCarthy, she was diagnosed with mould and mycotoxin poisoning in December 2025.

She also described the psychological and physical challenges of trying to recover, including becoming increasingly worried about exposure to mould in her surroundings.

Her fear reportedly became so intense that she temporarily moved into a tent in an attempt to avoid further exposure.

“At one point, you know, I was just so desperate to heal that I literally was living in a tent,” she recalled.

Despite everything she has been through, McCarthy said she was not prepared for another breast procedure, adding that she would reconsider it when she felt ready.
