Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate has disclosed the reasons why he stated that he might not be alive to contest the presidential election in 2027.

According to his statements which were made available to the general public by VANGUARD on Wednesday July 8th, 2026 he pointed out that his businesses and sources of living were being frustrated by the current administration.

Speaking during a highly monitored media chat with respected media personality Chude Jideonwo on Wednesday, it can be recalled, the former Anambra State governor stirred massive public reactions after the raised serious concerns over his safety.

Giving reasons for his statements which were recently shared by VANGUARD, the former Anambra State governor pointed accusing fingers at the current administration for frustrating his businesses.

However, while no substantial evidence exist to ascertain the credibility of his concerns, the social media space is currently awash with diverse arguments.

The statements from the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate have however, triggered fresh rounds of controversies. While many downplayed his comments, others argued that extra measures must be taken to safeguard the 2027 NDC presidential candidate.

“Every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating it. Deliberately so. Everything. So, there is even a possibility, if they have the opportunity, I will not be alive.” He said.
