“Why can single fathers remarry easily while single mothers struggle?” — Woman questions society’s double standard

A woman’s enquiry on why single mothers find it difficult to find love again yet single males, especially those with several children, manage to remarry easily has generated a lot of discussion on social media.

The woman complained about what she called a glaring gender disparity in the way society views single parents in a post that went viral.

Why is it easy for a single father with five children to remarry any time he wants to a beautiful woman of his choice, but a single mother with just one child struggles to remarry?” she asked.

She maintained that whereas males with several children are still viewed as desirable companions, single women with just one child are sometimes stigmatised.

This nature is really cheating on women,” she added, insisting that single women deserve the same chance at love and companionship as single fathers.

Her remarks provoked strong feelings, and other users responded with varying justifications based on society norms, gender roles, and money.
