A wedding reception in Milwaukee reportedly ended in vi0lence after an argument allegedly broke out over the way a groomsman was eating meatballs, according to prosecutors.
Police are searching for 41-year-old Thomas Redrick Williams, who is accused of sh00ting and injuring two people during the altercation before fleeing the scene.
Williams is wanted on allegations including reckless injury involving a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and bail jumping.
The incident occurred on June 20 at the Aria Business Center in Milwaukee. Responding officers reportedly found a man and a woman suffering from guπsh0t wounds.
According to a cr!minal complaint, the dispute began in the kitchen area when the bride’s cousin allegedly saw Williams eating meatballs with his hands and advised him to use a plate and cutlery instead.
Investigators say the disagreement quickly escalated. The woman told police that Williams punched her after she confronted him, and her brother-in-law intervened as the situation became physical.
Prosecutors allege that Williams then pulled out a firearm and opened fire. The woman was struck in the arm and leg, while the man sustained a gunshot wound to the back of the neck. Both victims survived and were treated at a nearby hospital.
Authorities said the bride witnessed the incident and followed Williams outside as he attempted to leave. She allegedly confronted him beside his vehicle and took his key fob in an effort to prevent him from driving away.
According to investigators, Williams then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
A search of the car, which is registered to Williams’ wife, reportedly led to the discovery of a Taurus 9mm handgun.
Police said Williams’ wife later informed officers that they had attended the wedding together and that he had dropped her off at home before returning with her vehicle.
Authorities further stated that Williams was already out on bond in another case when the shooting occurred. A warrant has since been issued for his arrest, and as of June 30, jail records indicated that he had not yet been taken into custody.
Video footage aired by local media showed the visibly distressed bride outside the venue after the shooting, while residents expressed shock over the incident.
“For a wedding to be shot up like that is ridiculous,” local resident Robert told local TV news station WISN 12 News. “A wedding day is supposed to be something that two people have to care and love each other, and for someone to disrupt that is disrupting a family.”
