“We will hire a second maid” — Husband’s proposal after housemaid’s pregnancy stirs reactions

A woman’s quandary about what to do after learning that her housemaid is six months pregnant and unable to perform her responsibilities as before has generated a lot of internet discussion.

The woman claims that the housemaid first denied being pregnant, but once the pregnancy reached six months, she finally acknowledged it.

She said the pregnancy had often left her weary, forcing her to handle the majority of the household chores herself, even though she had always taken great care of her children.

Her husband’s rejection of her plan to give the maid her last pay cheque, purchase necessities for the baby, and allow her to leave before giving birth compounded the situation.

Read what the woman said below;

Mums here who have employed house maids, please, how do you deal with a situation where the house maid becomes pregnant? At first, she completely denied that she was pregnant, but now she has finally confirmed it, and she’s quite far along. Already 6 months gone already. She has always been wonderful with the children, but lately, she seems to be getting very tired. It’s more like I’ve become the house maid instead. Cuz she’s no longer helpful around the house ,either just sitting around or sleeping

Social media users are debating whether the family should keep the pregnant housemaid or let her go with financial support in response to the article.

While some applauded the husband for being compassionate toward someone who had taken care of the family’s children, others questioned his insistence on retaining her after giving birth and his rejection of the suggested DNA test.
