UK launches manhunt for prisoner who failed to return to open jail after ?approved visit?

A warning has been issued to the public not to approach a prisoner who has not returned to HMP Castle Huntly after an authorized visit.

On Tuesday, December 30, James Fitzpatrick, 36, was reported missing after failing to show up for his mandatory return to the open prison near Dundee. He may have boarded a bus heading towards Ardrossan, according to police, and was last seen on Monday, December 29 at around 11.20 a.m.

Fitzpatrick is described as a white man with short brown hair, a stocky build, and a height of approximately 5 feet 8 inches. It is known that he has contacts in Ayrshire.

Extensive investigations and searches are being conducted to find him, according to the officers. Police Scotland has advised people to call the police right away if they see Fitzpatrick rather than approaching him.

We’ve asked anyone with information that could help track him down to come forward..
