Traditional worshippers in Abeokuta, Ogun State, have carried out spiritual rites at Olumo Rock and other sacred locations, seeking divine intervention for the release of more than 40 pupils and teachers abd¥cted from three schools in Oyo State nearly three weeks ago.

The ceremony was led by Dr. Omolara Fashola-MacGregor, wife of the Olu of Orile-Ilawo, Oba Alexander Olusegun MacGregor. It featured prayers, libations, and invocations to ancestral deities.

Dressed in traditional attire, the worshippers prayed for the safe return of the abducted victims and called for divine justice against those behind the mid-May att@ck, which also resulted in the d3ath of an assistant headmaster.

“The cries of these innocent school children have reached the heavens,” Olori MacGregor said during the gathering. “We are invoking the spirit of our ancestors and the potent deities of our land to go into the deepest forests. May those who have taken these children find no sleep, no peace, and no safety until every single child and teacher is returned unharmed.”
