Three children allegedly died after eating noodles in South Africa

Relatives are awaiting post-mortem results to determine what caused the deaths of three toddlers in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, who became ill and died after eating noodles.

The children, Sinothando Ngwendu, 11, Olwam Ngwendu, 7, and Athenkosi Ngwendu, a four-month-old newborn boy, departed with their grandparents to visit a family in New Brighton, according to reports.

The oldest child was dispatched to a nearby store to purchase a packet of noodles, which they then prepared and consumed.

The older siblings, however, complained of stomach cramps and nausea when they returned home to Motherwell on Sunday, November 7.

The children’s grandmother gave them water to drink. But their conditions quickly deteriorated, and they were rushed to a clinic.

Tragically all three died before doctors could help them.
