“They Took the Ticket and Walked Away!” — Datti Slams Obi’s ADC Move as Betrayal

According to our reporter, former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has openly criticised Peter Obi’s defection to the ADC, accusing him and his allies of abandoning the party that gave them relevance in 2022.

Speaking in an interview aired by SYMFONI TV, Datti described Obi and his camp as political opportunists who moved on after securing a presidential ticket. “A group of political travelers welcomed in 2022 with a presidential ticket simply continued their journey,” he said, warning Nigerians to note their increasingly hostile posture.

Despite financial challenges and what he termed “perfected electoral fraud,” Datti defended the Labour Party’s record, noting it produced a sitting governor, eight senators, about 40 House of Representatives members, and dozens of state lawmakers.

He expressed confidence in the party’s future, insisting Nigeria has capable leaders who avoid toxic political systems dominated by money and godfathers, and will emerge when conditions are right.
