A Nigerian woman has revealed a frightening story about a family in the United Kingdom whose parents allegedly called the police on their 14-year-old daughter after she misbehaved regularly in their home.
According to mom, the girl was always well-behaved in Nigeria. When the family moved to the United Kingdom, she adjusted well as first, but conflicts quickly erupted.
She started opposing her parents by talking back to her mother and even standing chest-to-chest with her father to challenge his authority.
“You would talk to her, she would tell her mother, ‘shut up.’ The father would talk to her, she would stand chest to chest with him, challenging him, and just doing anyhow. It was obvious she was trying to trigger them to hit her,” she recounted.
When she refused to follow her father’s directions, he allegedly phoned the police.
He said that if he tried to punish her himself, social services would intervene, so he let the authorities handle the problem.
The police planned to conduct a mental health assessment because misbehaviour in juveniles is frequently treated in the UK as potentially linked to mental health difficulties.
When the daughter heard this, she begged her parents to take her away, but her father persevered.
Following the intervention, social services returned to her home and informed her parents that she had a confession to make.
