Media personality Morayo Afolabi Brown’s spouse, Afolabi Brown, has talked candidly about the difficulties they encountered in the early years of their marriage, disclosing that they had frequent disputes.
During an appearance on his wife’s TV show, Afolabi revealed that the first three years of their marriage were characterised by frequent arguments, but that all changed after five years when he realised he could fully trust his wife.
He claims that others who cautioned him against being too kind with his wife, saying she would take advantage of him, gave him incorrect advice. But his father intervened and changed his perspective.
“The first three years of my marriage, there used to be a lot of yelling. But after five years, I realised I could trust my wife with everything.
I was fed a lot of wrong information in the early years of my marriage. I was told not to be too soft for my wife or else I would be taken for granted. Thankfully, my dad was there to correct me,” he said.
Afolabi also discussed the reasons he and Morayo refrained from having sex before marriage, disclosing that his mother-in-law persuaded him to postpone having sex until after marriage and reassured him that God would accept the sacrifice.
His disclosure is consistent with that of Morayo Afolabi Brown, who previously revealed that she and her husband had not had intercourse prior to marriage. However, she pointed out that abstinence prior to marriage does not ensure a successful or harmonious connection.
Four children—three daughters and a son—have been born to Morayo and Afolabi Brown since their 2011 marriage.
