On Tuesday, the Super Falcons of Nigeria defeated Cameroon 3-1 in their second pre-WAFCON friendly.
Cameroon won the first meeting 1-0 in Yaoundé, but Nigeria outperformed itself in the second leg.
The hosts struck first to grab the lead, which temporarily unsettled the visitors.
Nigeria equalised in the 32nd minute as Chiwendu Ihezuo slammed home a header after a superb cross from Rinsola Babajide.
The game then changed course, allowing the Super Falcons to advance.
Just before halftime, Babajide scored, reacting quickly in the box to put Nigeria ahead 2-1 at the break.
The Super Falcons extended their lead just after the hour mark. Michelle Alozie rose to meet a precise cross from captain Rasheedat Ajibade, going in to complete the comeback and seal a 3-1 victory.
After the double-header, attention switches to Morocco for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (17 March – 3 April).
Nigeria, the 10-time champions, will compete in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt, and Malawi, with their campaign beginning on March 18 against Malawi in Casablanca.
Cameroon, the 2016 runners-up, is in Group D with Ghana, Mali, and Cape Verde, and their competition will begin against Mali at Fes.
For Nigeria, this victory restores momentum and solidifies their reputation as serious contenders in the continental showcase.
