“Struggling is for single women, not married ones” – Lady blasts married women who beg online

A Nigerian lady has sparked outrage online after revealing a forthright opinion about women in relationships who continue to approach single women for financial assistance.

In a viral video on X (previously Twitter), @dammiedammie35 expressed annoyance with the quantity of messages she receives from married or attached women requesting money.

Read what she said below:

“Struggling is meant for single women only. If you are married, you’re engaged, you have a man, a boyfriend, whatever, and both of you claim each other, that word should not exist in your vocabulary.

Majority of the people that beg me, ‘Hello, please help me with some money, I haven’t eaten, me and my kids and husband are struggling,’ are either married women or women with a man.”

She questioned why some married women would seek aid from single women, especially because, she claims, singles are frequently pressured to settle down.

The lady insisted that single women have their own burdens and so should not be the ones getting cash requests from those who have companions.

“Are you not ashamed of yourself? You are coming to beg single women, and you are the same people that will go online and say, ‘Go and find a husband,’ she added.

Her words elicited diverse reactions on social media. One user wrote, “Marriage is not a job. Some married women are suffering silently.” Another added, “She has a point. If you have a partner, why are you begging?”

While some praised her bravery, others attacked her stance as inconsiderate, claiming that financial issues affect everyone, regardless of marital status.
