“Some use style dey show their juju” — Conjectures about the herbalist students’ costumes during UNIBEN’s Costume Day

During the University of Benin’s Costume Day celebration, students dressed like herbalists and caused quite a stir.

A few hours ago, the esteemed Nigerian university celebrated Costume Day, giving students the chance to dress as and portray any well-known historical figure.

Some students stuck to tradition by wearing as herbalists, but others dressed like singers, actors, and many other well-known occupations and celebrities.

Not only one, but more students donned herbalista costumes and assembled into a group to take pictures, emulating a movie-style cult.

Since then, social media users have responded in a variety of ways to their outfit, with some claiming the wearers are actual ritualists.
