In relation to the alleged k!.dnapping of six-year-old Habibu Appolos from Nyuwar Village in Gombe State’s Balanga Local Government Area, six people have been taken into custody.

Unknown thugs k!.dnapped the boy in August 2025. 

He was discovered in the care of Zubaina Abubakar, a 14-year-old girl from Kumuru via Nyuwar, on January 22, 2026. During questioning, Zubaina accused Habiba Isa, 45, of Lafiya, Lamurde in Adamawa State, of telling her to take the child to Gidado Ibrahim, 30, of Sibo Village, and Oborona Obidah, 28, of delivering the victim to her grandparents.

According to preliminary investigations, the suspects planned to k!.dnap the child for ceremonial reasons. Yunusa Kura, 45, of Kumtur Village, who has been identified as the alleged åtualist, is one of those detained.

The suspects are still being held while the case is investigated, according to police confirmation.
