“She told them to silence me” – Baba Ijesha breaks silence after release, accuses Princess of set up

In a video titled “Eniwaye Dáràn,” Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, also known as Baba Ijesha, claims he was set up in the case that led to his imprisonment.

The incident occurred in 2021, when fellow actress Princess accused him of sexually assaulting her 14-year-old foster daughter.

“My trust was betrayed. I ended up in Kirikiri prison because of a woman. She asked them to silence me so that my voice would not be heard. Please listen to my own side of the story,” he said.

According to Baba Ijesha, the incident that led to his detention took place on April 21, 2021, when Princess allegedly welcomed him to her home, claiming she had cooked his favourite food.

He also stated that he was assured there was a movie role waiting for him.

However, he eventually realised that there was no film project and that the circumstances had reportedly been staged to lead to his arrest.

“Please, my fans, be careful with friends. They cannot be trusted. The world is evil, and human beings are more wicked than venomous snakes,” Ijesha added.

The actor’s speech has subsequently elicited conflicting emotions online, with many individuals revisiting the contentious issue and expressing differing views on his assertions.

Baba Ijesha was freed in November 2025 after serving his three-year prison sentence for the highly publicised case that shook Nigeria’s entertainment sector.
