After criticizing what she called “contradictory relationship advice” from online influencers, a woman has caused a great deal of controversy.
The woman described how a female content creator she met two years ago strongly opposed marriage and advised women to “decenter men” and avoid romantic commitments in a post that went viral this week.
She claims that the same influencer has now revealed her engagement, casting doubt on the veracity of online stories and their influence on followers.
“Two years ago I met a female content creator who was advocating for women to ‘decenter men’. She said she would never get married, didn’t trust men, and encouraged other women not to marry because marriage was like sl@very. Yesterday she got engaged,” she said.
Concerns over ‘rage bait’ and digital culture
The development has fueled conversations about the role of algorithms and viral content in shaping attitudes toward relationships.
“Many of you are getting rage baited into hating the opposite s3x by people who have no business giving you advice, and would change their tune in a second if they found the right person. This is a generation being programmed to doubt and avoid each other,” she added.
Similar debates surfaced in 2023 when social media users raised concerns about the growing influence of relationship content creators and the psychological effects of algorithm-driven narratives.
