Several members of a private security outfit linked to Yoruba Nation campaigner Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, were reportedly injured following an alleged att@ck by suspected baπdits during an operation in Oyo State.
The incident is said to have occurred within the Old Oyo National Park, where members of the Iru Ekun security outfit were reportedly carrying out a security operation.
According to sources, the operatives had entered the forest to track suspected k!dnappers and other armed groups believed to be operating in the area.
The team was also said to have deployed surveillance drones to monitor movements and identify locations allegedly connected to cr!minal activities before advancing further into the forest.
However, the operation reportedly turned vi0lent after the security personnel came under att@ck.
Sources claimed that heavily armed men, suspected to be operating through border routes, opened fire on the operatives, leading to a gun battle inside the forest.
Several members of the security outfit were reportedly injured during the confrontation.
