Bandits b£head abducted Oyo teacher

Baπdits have reportedly k!lled Michael Oyedokun, one of the teachers abducted from Community High School Ahoro-Esinele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Gunmen had earlier invaded schools in the community on Friday, May 15, 2026, abducting the school principal, other teachers, and several students.

Reports online alleged that Oyedokun was beheaded in a disturbing video released by the k!dnappers on Sunday, May 17. The footage reportedly showed the teacher tied up and forced to speak before he was k!lled.

Suleimon Olanrewaju confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Monday. He said Seyi Makinde had extended condolences to the victim’s family and assured residents that the government would continue employing both military and non-military strategies to rescue the remaining abductees.

Olanrewaju also disclosed that about six suspects linked to the k!dnapping had been arrested. He further sympathized with the families of soldiers, members of the Amotekun Corps, and local vigilantes who reportedly lost their lives during rescue operations.

According to him, the security operatives died after encountering Improvised Explosive Devices allegedly planted by the abductors. He added that injured personnel were responding positively to treatment and assured that the government would continue supporting them.

He also appealed to relatives of the victims, religious groups, and concerned members of the public to remain patient, promising that efforts were ongoing to secure the safe rescue and reunion of the abductees with their families.
